Physical therapist, PhD hos University Hasselt (Belgium) and Private practice

Bart Dingenen (physical therapist, PhD) currently combines working as an academic postdoctoral researcher and lecturer at Hasselt University (Belgium) with clinical work as a sport physical therapist in a private clinical practice (Motion to Balance, Genk).

He is mainly interested in strategies to optimize prevention and rehabilitation strategies of sports-related injuries of the lower extremity, including anterior cruciate ligament injuries, chronic ankle instability, and running-related injuries.

 

Clinically, Bart is also mainly consulted in function of lower extremity rehabilitation, injury prevention and performance enhancement. Bart has published numerous papers in international peer-reviewed journals, and has frequently presented at national and international conferences, symposia, workshops and podcasts to translate research to practice.

 

He received the American College of Sports Medicine Biomechanics Interest Group Award in 2015, and won the most popular poster award at the 14th Scandinavian Congress of Medicine & Science in Sports in 2018. Bart is also the social media editor of Physical Therapy in Sport.
